Calvin C. Borden, 88 of Concord, NH died peacefully at home on Monday, February 18, 2019 with his wife and family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Patricia (Graham) Borden; his two daughters, Deborah (Borden) Cregg and her husband Robert Cregg, of Concord, NH; Susan (Borden) Lunt and her husband Russell Lunt of Wilmot, NH; and his four grandchildren Victoria Cregg of Concord, Nadya Cregg of Franklin, Robert Cregg and his wife Felicia of Concord, NH; Calvin Cregg of Concord, NH., as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Borden was born on July 29, 1930, in Perham, ME, the son of the late Stanley E. and Lucia A. (Whitten) Borden. He is predeceased by his sister Opal (Borden) Everett, and survived by his sister Eunice (Borden) Carman of Washburn, ME., and Brenda (Borden) Allen and her husband Wayne of Presque Isle, ME.
He was a veteran and served in the United States Air Force.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Borden was employed as a postal worker and worked in the city of Quincy, MA. During his lifetime Mr. Borden loved animals, cars, working around the house, and helping other people. He will be remembered as a gentle and kind man who loved God, his family, and his country.
SERVICES: A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019, from 1:30 – 2:30 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 172 King Street, in Boscawen. Military honors and interment will follow at 3:00 PM in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, in Boscawen.
