CARLENE DOROTHEA ENNIS LOCKE

BATH, NH -- Carlene Dorothea Ennis Locke, age 82, of Cross Road, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 13th, 2009, at The Cottage Hospital, in Woodsville, New Hampshire.

Carlene was born in Littleton, N.H. on November 1, 1926 to Arthur and Lillian Ennis. She attended school in Littleton, N.H. She worked in the old "Woolworth's" Store in Littleton, N.H.

After her marriage to "Si" Locke, and as a young mother, Carlene moved to Bath, NH where she became an active partner in the Locke Dairy Farm. Carlene, also, spent many years working at The Brick Store in Bath, N.H., and eventually 'owning' a craft shop in Bath, N.H.

Carlene loved her family and her home. Until she was no longer able, she loved to have a garden, loved eating dandelions, and making "wild" strawberry shortcake. She truly loved her cats, dog(s) and dairy cows. Carlene loved people, but enjoyed her quiet times, and reading books.

She is survived by five children: Silas Stephen (Steve) Locke and his wife, Virginia, of Bath, NH; David Charles Locke and his wife, Brenda, of Maine; Cynthia L. Gadwah and her husband, Gary, of Bath, NH; Ronald Elmer Locke of Bath, NH and Tammy; and Donald Ernest Locke and his wife, Gloria, of Bath, NH. Carlene had one brother, Clifton A. Ennis, of Windsor, Maine. She is, also, survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

SERVICES  Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 18th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home located at 101 Union Street in Littleton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the Bath Congregational Church in Bath. Burial will follow in the Bath Village Cemetery followed by a reception at the Bath Congregational Church, Bath, N.H.
