Carmelle P. (Cote) Bessette, 85, formerly of Manchester passed away on November 30, 2014 in Coaticook, PQ Canada.
She was born in Martinville, Canada on February 5, 1929, the daughter of Camille and Emilia (Gaulin) Cote and lived in Manchester from 1960 until moving back to Canada in 1990. She had worked as a seamstress for over 20 years with Standard Uniform. She loved to knit, especially slipper and blankets for her family. She was the widow of Romain Bessette who died in 2011.
Family members include three sons, Rene Bessette and his wife Claudette of Candia, Fernand Bessette and his wife Julie of Colebrook, and Marc Bessette and his wife Diane of Manchester; five daughters, Gaetane Morton of Colebrook, Martine Goulet, Carmen Pouliot and her husband J.C, Mariette Tremblay and her husband Alain, and Raymonde LaChance and her husband William, all of Manchester; 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, three sisters, and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Calling hours will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM in the Parish of the Transfiguration. After cremation, inurnment will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery columbarium.
