Carmelle (Lapointe) Boucher, 88, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Evergreen Place, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in St. Germain, Quebec, Canada on March 4, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Emelia (Baillargeon) Lapointe. Carmelle spent her younger years in Canada and in 1952 married the love of her life, Edmourd Boucher and raised a beautiful family. In 1956, Carmelle and her family relocated to Berlin, NH eventually settling in Manchester in 1960. Carmelle worked tirelessly to provide for her growing family. In her younger years, Carmelle worked in the Manchester shoe factories. Well known for her gentle spirit and love of children, she was employed as a child caregiver at St. Peter's Daycare for over 15 years, retiring in her early eighties.
A dedicated wife, mother, and memere, Carmelle's family was paramount in her life. She cherished time spent with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carmelle loved to sing church hymns and listen to country music. A devout Christian, she found great comfort and strength in her Catholic Faith. Carmelle will be best remembered for her generous heart and love of family.
Carmelle is survived by her five sons, Alain Boucher and wife Susan of Goffstown, Mario Boucher and wife Leigh of Manchester, Berthol "Bert" Boucher of Goffstown, Claude Boucher of Bedford, and Bernard "Ben" Boucher and wife Joceline of Merrimack; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, Leonce Lapointe of Manchester; two sisters, Agathe Lajeunesse of FL, and Yvette Martel of Sherbrook, CA; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Carmelle was predeceased by her husband, Edmourd Boucher, with whom she shared 35 years of marriage; and three siblings, Conrad, Gilles, and Helena Lapointe.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her Visitation will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Ave., Manchester, on Friday, February 10, from 4:00 to 8:00P.M. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Ste. Marie Church, Notre Dame Ave., on Saturday, February 11, at 10:00A.M. Followed by Committal in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
