Carmelle E. (Laventure) Robie, 76, of Candia, passed away on December 7, 2004 at the Elliot Hospital. She was born in Manchester on May 17, 1928, the daughter of Wilfrid and Alice (Guillemette) Laventure and had been a Candia resident since 1949. She attended Youngsville School and was a graduate of St. George High School, Class of 1947. She owned and operated Mrs. Robie’s Preschool and Kindergarten for over twenty years. After that, she had been employed by Shop and Save until her retirement. She and her husband held Evangelical meetings, Prayer group, Tops group and Knitting group meetings in their home for many years. She enjoyed flowers and reading. She was predeceased by her husband, Karl W. Robie who died in 1988. Family members include her daughter, Carlene Bissonnette of Candia; two sons, Carleton Robie of Candia and Craig Robie of Chester; six grandchildren; three sisters, Laurette Williams and Rita Ganziano, both of Lakeland, FL and Madeleine Laventure of Manchester; three brothers, Andre Laventure of Springfield, VA, Richard Laventure of Port St. Lucie, FL and Conrad Laventure of Port Charlotte, FL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday December 18th at the Candia Congregational Church at 11:00 AM. Urn burial will take place in Holbrook Cemetery, Candia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Candia Congregational Church, High Street, Candia, NH 03034 in her memory to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
