Carmen "Cuca" Amalia Acosta, 65, passed away at her home on March 13, 2018. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on May 30, 1952, she was daughter of the late Eleuterio Acosta and Rosa Ortiz. She enjoyed 40 years of marriage with her husband, Ramon Dominguez.
Carmen was raised in Puerto Rico and moved to New York at the age of 24, where she lived in both Brooklyn and Staten Island for many years before moving to New Hampshire last year. A devoted Christian, she found great comfort in her faith and enjoyed attending bible studies in New York. Carmen loved shopping. A devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, family was paramount in Carmen's life and she cherished time spent with her loved ones.
She leaves behind her husband, Ramon Dominguez of Manchester, NH; her children, daughter Jacqueline Root and her husband Al of Naugatuck, CT; son Angel Baez and his wife Erica of Manchester, NH; daughter Carmen Betancourt and her husband Felix of New Haven, CT; her siblings, sister Martha Escalet, brothers Carlos and Jose Acosta, and her sister Luz Ortiz; as well as thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by several siblings.
Carmen's visitation will be held on Friday, March 16th from 4-7pm with a service at 7pm at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. Family and friends are invited to attend.
