Carol Ann Dusseault

March 30, 1944 — May 19, 2022

Concord

Carol Ann Dusseault (Patterson), 78, of Concord, NH passed away peacefully at her home on May 19, 2022 after an extended illness.  Carol was born on March 30, 1944, the youngest child and only daughter of the late John and Marjorie (Burt) Patterson of Rumney, NH. Carol was the loving wife of Rene Dusseault, also of Concord, with whom she would have celebrated 57 years of marriage on May 22.

Carol enjoyed spending quality time with her family, particularly her girls and grandsons. Carol loved her home and enjoyed working on her property, riding her tractor mower, working in her basement workshop, and completing home improvement projects. Carol was curious and creative and found ways of expressing both through amateur photography, woodworking, poetry writing, decorative crafting, baking, and creative engineering. Carol enjoyed the many friendships and relationships she formed over the years. All were special to her, whether they were formed during childhood, through marriage, at work, in church, in the community or in her own neighborhood. She enjoyed time spent talking with and getting to know others, rejoicing with them in happiness, sympathizing with them in sadness, and praying for them and their families through both. Carol truly cared about others and worked hard to show it whenever she could.

Although preferring to work at home, Carol spent several years working the deli counter at Shaw’s and she previously owned and operated a cleaning and painting business with her husband. For the last 25 years of her life, Carol worked at home as an unpaid caretaker, first for her mother and then for her husband. Being a caretaker isn’t an easy job and she wasn’t always happy about doing it, but Carol took her responsibilities seriously and always did her best to provide quality care and support for her mom and husband, even when she herself was ill and in need of care. Carol was a spiritual person who deeply loved God and did her best to live her life for Jesus every day. While Carol had hoped to spend more time here on earth doing the things she enjoyed, Carol was at peace knowing that the Lord was waiting for her with open arms.

In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by three daughters, Ronda Dusseault and husband Chad Pasch of Leesburg, VA, Deena Dusseault of Leesburg, VA, Paula Hendrick and husband Jonathan of Concord, NH; and two grandsons, Ethan Hendrick of Farmingville, NY and Jarrett Dusseault of Leesburg, VA.

Carol was the youngest of six children and leaves behind two brothers, Allan Patterson and wife Gail of W. Berlin, VT, and Morris Patterson and wife Barbara of Thornton, NH. She was predeceased by three brothers, John Patterson Jr. of Rumney, NH, Dale Patterson of Canterbury, NH, and Robert Patterson of Plymouth, NH. Carol is also survived by many well-loved friends, cousins, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
