Carol K. Meyer

Carol Kathryn Swedberg Meyer, 72, of Bedford, NH, formerly of Iowa, Minnesota and Massachusetts, passed away on November 28, 2017. Born December 12, 1944 in Mason City, Iowa, Carol was a daughter of the late Glen and Hazel (Miller) Swedberg. She enjoyed 36 years of marriage with her loving husband, Charles "Chuck" Meyer, with whom she raised their daughter, Rachel.

Born and raised in Iowa, Carol graduated from Rockford Senior High School, Rockford, Iowa, Class of 1963. She later attended the University of Missouri and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education. Carol worked as a teacher at several different schools during her career. A devoted friend, Carol had a knack for communicating and maintaining relationships with friends and family, despite living far away. Carol took great interest in being a political activist. After retiring from teaching, Carol enjoyed being a homemaker, baking delicious sweets for friends and family and creating cherished scrapbooks.

Carol leaves behind her husband, Charles "Chuck" Meyer of Bedford, NH; her daughter, Rachel Meyer and fiancé Chris Markiewicz of Burlington, MA; her brother, Carl Swedberg and wife Roberta of Prairie City, IA; her sister, Jane Bartley and husband Keith of Greeley, CO; her brother, Joe Swedberg and wife Amy of Longmont, CO; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Carol was also looking forward to becoming a grandmother in the coming months. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Judith Suzanne.

A memorial gathering will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Ave, Manchester, NH 03102 on Wednesday, December 6th beginning at 10am, with a memorial service at 11am. A reception will follow. Family and friends are invited to attend.
