Carol M. Scott, 57, of Manchester died March 13, 2007 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA following a brief bout with cancer. Carol was born on September 1, 1949 in Malden, MA the daughter of George and Dorothy (Kirby) Scott. She grew up in Plaistow and in 1971 graduated form the University of New Hampshire with a bachelors degree in education. For the past 21 years, Ms. Scott had been a math teacher at Milford High School. She was a member of the Manchester School Board and most recently served on the finance and student conduct committees. She served four years as a board member on the NEA-NH and was a former president of the Milford Teachers Association. Carol had also been very active in the Democratic party for many years. She was an unselfish zealot for students and worked hard to ensure that the students she taught in Milford, as well as those in the Manchester School District, received the respect and education they deserved. Her legacy of putting students first will long be remembered. Her positive outlook and her caring demeanor will be missed by all who knew her. Carol was also a parishioner and Eucharistic minister at Ste. Marie Church. Family members include; her parents, George and Dorothy Scott, of Arden, NC; her sister and her husband, Susan and Bob Prather of Newbern, NC. Friends are welcome to greet the family Saturday morning from 9 until 10 oclock and a Memorial Mass will follow at 10 at Ste. Marie Parish. Internment will take place in West Memorial Park in Weaverville, NC at a later date.
