Caroline D. Gladu, 93, of Hooksett, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 18, 2018 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Manchester, she is the daughter of the late John and Yvonne (Montmarquette) LePage. Caroline married the love of her life, the late George Gladu in 1945. The young couple settled in Manchester to raise their beautiful family. Affectionately known to the library patrons as "Miss Carrie", Caroline devoted 23 years of her time and talents to the Hooksett Public Library.
A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Caroline's family was paramount in her life. In her younger years, she loved candlepin bowling and participated in several local leagues. A fantastic cook, Caroline was well known for her homemade Swedish meatballs, baked beans, and carrot cake. She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Rosary Parish, participating for many years as a member of the Catholic Women's Guild. Caroline will be best remembered for her generous heart and love of family.
Caroline is survived by her daughter, Linda Giroux and fiancé James Glidden of Hooksett; two sons, Gary Gladu and wife Teresa of Allenstown, and David Gladu of Hooksett; four grandchildren, Atty. Corey Giroux, Craig Giroux, Audrey Gladu, and Ashley Gladu; two sisters, Lovy Poulin and Claire LaPage; brother, Paul LePage; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friend. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George Gladu; and three siblings, Annette Pinard, Juliette Lamontagne, and Jean LePage.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her Visitation will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Monday, May 21 from 4:00 to 7:00P.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 21 Main St., Hooksett, on Tuesday, May 22 at 10:00A.M. Followed by committal at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester, NH. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Caroline's memory to the Hooksett Public Library, 31 Mt. St. Mary's Way, Hooksett, NH 03106 or to Bayada Hospice, 194 Pleasant St., Suite 9, Concord, NH 03301.
