Carroll Wayne "Bud" Lyons died on August 18, 2024, in his home. He was born in Littleton on August 13, 1934. He is predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Roberta "Berta" Corey.
After graduating from Bethlehem High School, Bud became a salesman for the Saranac glove company and was a member of the National Guard. Later he worked for Connors and Hoffman Shoe Company as a leather cutter, was a manager at Keltronics Corporation then worked for White Mountain Shoe as a quality control supervisor. In that role he traveled extensively to the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Texas. After retiring from White Mountain Shoe, he worked as a maintenance person for the Social Security office in Littleton, for Connecticut River Bank and was a courier for Union Bank. He continued working as a courier until just a few weeks before he died.
He enjoyed vacationing at Maine beaches and annual trips to Ste. Anne de Beaupre, Quebec, watching and supporting all the Boston sports teams - most notably the Red Sox. In his earlier years he enjoyed fishing and hunting and continued to be an avid gardener throughout his life. He loved meeting new people and learning about their lives. He enjoyed interacting with employees at the places where he did business, talking with his neighbors, and keeping an eye on the neighborhood. He was affectionally dubbed the "neighborhood watch" by his neighbors. He was a kind and generous man who will be missed by many.
He is predeceased by his brother, Benton Lyons, Jr. and his sister, Marilyn. He is survived by his two children, Robert Lyons and wife, Barbara Stickney Lyons of Enfield, and his daughter, Lori Lyons Daskal of Concord, one granddaughter, Heather Lynde of Concord and one great granddaughter, Abigale Chase of Concord, his sisters-in-law, Patricia Lyons of Littleton, Marilyn Corey Stillings of Littleton, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved cat, Smudge, known to him as "Smoochee".
