Cecile A. Belanger

Cecile A. (St. Pierre) Belanger, 100, died Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Community House in Merrimack, NH. She was born on July 20, 1924, the daughter of Joseph Belanger and Marie Louise St. Perre. She was the wife of the late Maurice Belanger who passed in 2016. They were married on April 15, 1950 in Berlin, NH.

Cecile was born in Berlin, NH, and graduated from Berlin High School. After graduation, she worked at the Berlin Mill before becoming a devoted homemaker following the birth of her children.

A faithful communicant of Holy Infant Jesus Church in Nashua, Cecile found great joy in her faith and her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished time spent with her loved ones.

Cecile had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy throughout her life, including gardening, knitting, and playing BINGO. She found peace in tending to her garden, creativity in her knitting, and excitement in a good game of BINGO, where she made many dear friends.

Cecile is survived by her three children: a daughter, Pauline Belanger Francey of Nashua, NH; two sons, Donald Belanger and wife Huguette of Center Barnstead, NH, and Robert Belanger and wife Lydia of Nashua, NH. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Tiffany Francey Theriault and husband Michael Theriault of Nashua, NH; the late David Francey; Benjamin Belanger and wife Sam of Manchester, NH; Bridgette Belanger of Asheville, NC; Patrick Belanger and wife Elizabeth; and Andrew Belanger and wife Crystal of Nashua, NH. Additionally, Cecile is survived by three great-grandchildren who brought her much joy.

She was predeceased by her sisters Irene (St. Pierre) Plant, Beatrice (St. Pierre) Belanger, Yvette (St. Pierre) Routhier, Pauline (St. Pierre) Lariviere, Eva (St. Pierre) Roberge, and a brother, Henry St. Pierre.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 16, at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua, NH, from 5 to 7 pm. A Catholic Mass will take place at 10:00 am at St. John XXIII at Infant Jesus Church, 121 Allds St, Nashua, NH. Burial will follow at Saint Francis Cemetery in Nashua, NH. Family and friends are invited to attend.

The family requests in lieu of flowers a donation be made in Cecile’s loving memory to the Merrimack Community House in Merrimack, NH.
