Cecile Jeanette Duford

Cecile Jeanette Duford (Bournival), age 79, passed away on April 27, 2022, from congestive heart failure.  Her last moments were peaceful, and she was surrounded by her loving family.  

Cecile was born and raised in Manchester, NH, to Edna and Lucien Bournival.  Cecile grew up in Manchester, NH, and resided most of her life in Bow, NH. She also lived for many years in Boscawen and Concord, NH.

Cecile’s beautiful soul will live on in her family’s memories.  She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Kelsey, Elias and Trevor Parsons.  She is survived by two loving daughters, Linda Parsons and Debra Smith.  She will be greatly missed by her siblings, Dorothy Bernier, Robert and Morris Bournival.

Cecile worked hard all of her life.  Her first job was in the textile mills in Manchester, NH.  She spent many years as a banquet waitress at the Wayfarer Restaurant in Bedford, NH.  Later in life she worked as a school bus driver for the Concord, NH, School District.

Cecile was a caring, dedicated mother and grandmother. She was selfless with her time and her unconditional love. She adored her grandchildren and she greatly enjoyed being a part of their lives, especially in their younger years.  She loved old movies and television shows.  She could spend hours lost in time, watching old westerns and the classic sitcoms of her generation.  She loved her dog, Buddy, a Pekinese, who predeceased her. She was a self-professed lover of food.  Her favorite meal was a turkey dinner with all of the trimmings. She loved spending time with her family.

Cecile fought valiantly, and won, her battle with breast cancer several years ago.  Cecile treasured life and was strong and persevering in her last years as well. A quote on her refrigerator showed her resolve, it read “I am fighting to stay alive not because I fear death but because I love life.” Her last years were challenging for her.  Her family finds comfort in knowing that she has been set free from pain and is finally at peace.

Cecile will be cremated and buried beside her adored father and mother at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Manchester, NH.  There will be a small graveside service attended by her family.
