Cecile Anastasia Gimas of Manchester died on April 19, 2005 in Manchester following a brief illness. She was born in Bedford, the daughter of George and Marigoula Gimas and had been a lifelong resident of the City. She was employed by Chicopee Mills, Freeds Bakery and worked for Evangeline Hasiotis at Van Otis Chocolates for many years until her retirement in 1999. She was an active member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral and belonged to the Anagennesis Society, the Tri-Ortho Seniors and sang in the Church Choir for many years. Family members include two sisters, Alexandra Plaisance and Cleona Seitz, both of Manchester; two brothers, Shukes Gimas and Philip Gimas, both of Manchester; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. In Her Life: She was predeceased by four brothers, James Gimas, Peter Gimas, Arthur Gimas and John Gimas. She was also very devoted to her church and volunteered extensively over the years. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Thursday from 5 8 PM. The Trisageon service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Friday morning at 10:00. Committal services will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
