Cecily Adair (Mills) Foy

Cecily Adair (Mills) Foy of Penacook, NH passed away peacefully on July 12, 2024 at Merrimack County Nursing Home surrounded by her family. She was born in Concord, NH on May 28, 1935, the daughter of Alfred R. and Elizabeth B. (Adams) Mills. She graduated from Concord High School in 1953 and went to work for Concord Electric Co. before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Richard L. Foy. After raising their four children she returned to the workforce and was employed at Unitil in the customer service department until her retirement in 1997.

Cecily will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her home was a gathering place for all and so many great memories were made there. She loved to bake. Many loved her creamy peanut butter fudge. She would bake over 100 dozen assorted Christmas cookies for her children and friends to enjoy. She loved her many trips with her sister, brother, and sister-in-law, traveling by car, bus, train, ferry, but never by plane as she feared flying. She always looked forward to her annual trip to Pennsylvania.

Cecily was predeceased by her parents, brother-in-law Roger Clark, son-in-law Thomas A. Vassillion Jr (2004) and her oldest grandson Brandon S. Currier (2022).

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Richard L. Foy of Penacook, daughters Donna L. (Tee) Currier of Lexington SC, Debra S. Vassillion of Warner NH, Gayle M. (Tim) Kielwein of South Williamsport PA, son Glenn S. Foy of Belmont NH, sister Muriel O. (Mills) Clark of Concord NH, brother Jeffery A. Mills (Ann) of Elizabeth City NC, eight grandchildren - Alicia (Dave) Campbell, Dustin (Emily) Currier, Thomas (Brooke) Vassillion, Stephanie (Matt Colomba) Vassillion, Heather (David) Morrill, Samantha Kielwein, Jacob (Amanda) Kielwein, Sadie Kielwein, and eight great-grandchildren – Tavian, Kylie, Brayden, Edwin, Elowen, Colton, Cecily, and Parker, as well as many nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: Visitation will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Home & Crematorium on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 11:30am to 12:30pm, with a Funeral Service immediately following at 12:30pm. Interment will be at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord following services at 2:00pm. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
