Charlene F. Dalrymple, 91, of Manchester, NH, previously of Bedford, NH, died on Friday, December 6, 2024 peacefully while surrounded by loving family, at the Maple Leaf Healthcare facility in Manchester, NH.
Charlene was born on August 18, 1933, in Oyster Bay, NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Miranda) Bishop. She attended local schools in Oyster Bay, NY and earned her Nursing degree from St. Lukes School of Nursing in 1955. She worked as registered nurse in New York City for a brief time. She then devoted her life to raising her family. Later she spent many years operating a highly successful Home Day Care in Bedford, NH. She loved children and helped raise many of the Bedford family’s children.
Members of her family include her 5 children: Anne and her husband, Michael Scanlon, James and his wife, Angie, Peter and his wife, Amy, Sue and her husband, Ray Beland, and Tom and his wife, Sheila. Charlene had 8 grandchildren: Jennifer, Caitlyn, Christen, Michael, Stephanie, Jeffrey, Jessica, and Alli, and 8 great grandchildren: AJ, Christopher, Thomas, Braelyn, Abram, Aiden, Conor, Owen, and another one on the way.
She also leaves behind her two sisters: Audrey Bishop and Ranie and Johnny Pullen of Ocala, Fla.
She was predeceased by her brother, Warren Bishop
She was very loved and will be dearly missed by all. She loved and was devoted to her family and often proclaimed that she was the luckiest person in the world !
SERVICES: A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 10 – 11 a.m. at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Food for Children www.foodfc.org in memory of Charlene Dalrymple. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Maple Leaf Healthcare and Brookhaven Hospice for all their love and support over the past 3 years.
