Charles H. Howard, 78, of Manchester, died March 6, 2008 at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen. He was born in Allenstown on March 27, 1929, the son of Ramon and Sarah (McConnell) Howard and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He was a Korean War Army Veteran, serving with the military police in Germany. For 43 years, he worked for Marvin Windows, retiring as a warehouse manager. He was a proud member of the 793rd Military Police Battalion Association. He belonged to the Derryfield Country Club for over 40 years. He also loved to fish. In His Life: Family members include his wife of 58 years, Anneliese "Hidy" (Seidl) Howard; a daughter, Ingrid Inferrere and her husband Edward of Manchester; three grandsons, Ryan Gauthier and his wife Tracy of ME, Nathan Gauthier of WY and Reagan Gauthier and his wife Corina of Manchester; one great grandson, Spencer Gauthier of ME; five step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren' a brother, Raymond Howard of Manchester; a sister Dot Bourque and her husband Gerry of Bow; and nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Monday from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 10:00 AM.
