Charles W. Thayer

Charles W. Thayer, 81, of Goffstown, NH and formerly of Brockton, MA, died at his residence on February 4, 2008. He was born in Hanson, MA on July 21, 1926, the son of Edwin and Lilly (Hammond) Thayer and had been a resident of Brockton for most of his life before moving to NH last year. He was a World War II Navy Veteran. He had worked as a milkman for over 20 years for Producers Dairy in Brockton. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local 653. He enjoyed bowling and traveling. He was predeceased by a daughter, Janet Thayer who died in 1957. In His Life: Family members include his wife of 62 years, Barbara (Copeland) Thayer; a son Chuck Thayer and his wife Charlene of Goffstown, NH; two grandchildren; Jennifer Lique of Goffstown, NH and Michael Lahar of New Hampton, NH; and nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 7:00 PM. A committal service with military honors will be held on Thursday morning at 11:00 in Fernhill Cemetery, Hanson, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 360 Route 101, Unit 501, Bedford, NH 03110. For more information, go to www.phaneuf.net.
