Charlotte A. Kenney, 94, of Bedford NH, passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2024 with loving family at her side. Born on August 6, 1929, in Manchester, NH, Charlotte's life was a testament to her vibrant personality, unwavering spirit, and endless sense of adventure.
Charlotte was born and raised in New Hampshire where she was always surrounded by family and friends. She met John, the love of her life at the age of 15 and would go on to enjoy over 65 years of marriage. Together they raised 5 beautiful children who were the center of Charlotte’s world.
Charlotte dedicated her career to working with children as a school bus driver, where she rightfully earned the title of “Sarge” by earning the respect of even the most rambunctious of students. She was a gregarious, kind yet courageous soul who never shied away from a challenge. Her presence was like a ray of sunshine wherever she went, always making meaningful connections with those around her.
Outside of work, Charlotte lived life to the fullest. An avid outdoor enthusiast, she cherished her time camping at Glen Ellis Family Campground and exploring the great outdoors. Cycling, walking, canoeing, meeting neighborhood dogs, and embarking on drives with family were among her favorite pastimes. Despite not being fond of baking, Charlotte delighted in preparing delectable tollhouse cookies and brownies that were the envy of the neighborhood. Her sweet tooth for ice cream and sweets was legendary among those who knew her best.
A woman whose generosity knew no bounds, Charlotte had a habit of sending heartfelt get-well cards to those in need.
Charlotte has joined her husband John Kenney and son Jimmy Kenney in heaven.
She is survived by her sons Steve Kenney, Mark Kenney and his wife Lisa; daughters Lynn Slaughter, Nancy Larson and her husband David; brother Robert Burbank; grandchildren Benjamin Slaughter and his wife Nicole, his daughter Maisie; Ryan Kenney; Alaina LaRochelle and her husband John; Shara Coffill and her husband Jake, their children Kaylee and Karlee; along with 9 grand doggies, 5 grand kitties, countless furry neighborhood friends, as well as many others.
