Charlotte S. Sargent of Manchester, NH, and formerly of Littleton, NH, passed away on January 24, 2026, four days before her 96th birthday, after a period of declining health. Charlotte was the youngest of four daughters born to Jeremiah and Ellen (Minihane) Sheehy. She was born in Lewiston, ME and relocated to Littleton as a small child. She attended St. Rose of Lima Elementary School and graduated from Littleton High School in 1947.

Charlotte graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1951 with a teaching degree in business education, and while there played on the college basketball team. After graduating, Charlotte taught at Littleton High School for one year until leaving to raise her family. She then was employed by Lewis Express, Inc. as a bookkeeper and retired as the office manager in the early 1990s.

Charlotte was married to Roger Sargent of Littleton in 1952 and they raised a family of four children. Together, they were a fixture at Littleton High School basketball, softball and field hockey games as well as band performances in the 1960s and 1970s, and Charlotte was well known among her children’s friends for always having a kitchen stocked with homemade baked goods. A person of strong faith, Charlotte was a devout Catholic throughout her life.

After her husband passed in 2009, Charlotte moved to Manchester to be centrally located to her children and grandchildren, and to witness many of her grandchildren's school and athletic events. Charlotte resided at the Regency West Apartments where she was active in the community social activities and encouraged friends to join her in daily fitness walks, which she continued until her early 90s. She moved to the Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center in 2025.

Charlotte is survived by her children and their spouses - Dennis (Elissa) Sargent of North Falmouth, MA, David (Darlene) Sargent of Bedford, NH, Diane (Anthony) DiNardo of Plymouth, NH and Deborah Sargent (Kelley Cronin) of Framingham, MA; five granddaughters - Jacqueline (Sargent) Arnold, Christina (Sargent) Leanos, Tessa DiNardo, Ashleigh Sargent and Meghan Sargent; four great grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services: Phaneuf Funeral Homes will assist with arrangements. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Littleton on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM.

The family extends its utmost gratitude to the staff at Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center for the very attentive, friendly and compassionate care they provided.
