Cheryl Booker Gorman, 72, passed away on January 18, 2024. She had been a recent resident of New Hampshire, formerly living in Dedham, Chatham, Westwood, and Wellesley Massachusetts. Born in 1951, she was the daughter of the late Forace and Dorette (Flentje) Booker.
Cheryl was a proud graduate of Colby College. She also earned an MBA from Simmons College and had a successful career in banking. Most recently, she was Executive Vice President at Harvard University Employees Credit Union. Cheryl will be remembered for her altruistic spirit and volunteer work. She served on the board of Lifeworks, a non-profit in Westwood that helps families of people with disabilities. Cheryl enjoyed biking on the Cape Cod Rail Trail and biked in the Pan-Mass Challenge for 14 years, raising over $66,000 for Dana-Farber. Cheryl also enjoyed skiing, golfing, boating, and going to the beach with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Gorman. She is survived by her son, Robert Gorman (Jennifer) and grandson Jack; her daughter, Katherine Gorman; her sister, Candace Elefante (James); three nieces, Courtney Allen (Harold), Kimberly Hubbard (Joshua), and Lindsey Sullivan (Thomas); and a nephew, Nicholas Gorman.
A private graveside service will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley, MA this week. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangement information available at www.phaneuf.net. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dana-Farber.
