Chester A. Macie, 70, of W. Chesterfield, NH passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Brattleboro, VT on April 22, 1946; the son of the late Loren and Edith Macie.
Chet was educated in the local school system, graduating from Brattleboro High School, Class of 1964. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed for over 30 years at Book Press and most recently as a warehouse worker for United Natural Foods until his retirement. Chet owned and operated Chet's Garage in W. Chesterfield. He loved working on cars and built a street rod with his sons. He enjoyed haying, farming, fishing, and square dancing being a former member of the Green Mountain Squares.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Theadora (Holcomb) Macie of W. Chesterfield; three sons, Chester Macie, Jr. of W. Chesterfield, Randy Macie of Marlboro, NH and Jerry Macie of W. Chesterfield; a sister, Dawn Elliot and her husband Michael of Marlow, NH; two granddaughters, Megan and Emma Macie both of Marlboro, NH; as well as several nephews and cousins.
An hour of visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at KER-WESTERLUND FUNERAL HOME, 57 High St., Brattleboro, VT. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Chesterfield West Cemetery in Chesterfield.
