Christine L. Fontneau, 59, of Goffstown, NH died April 3, 2013 at her home in Goffstown following a long battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born on March 22, 1954 in Auburn, NY the daughter of the late William Kantak, Jr. and Winifred June (Martin) Kantak. She was raised in Camilus, New York. Christine received her BS and MBA from NH College. She also received her MBE from Southern NH University.
She worked for Home Insurance in Manchester for over 30 years. She was an assistant vice president in the financial division.
Christine enjoyed gardening, camping, travelling, baking and family gatherings. Her Christmas cookie trays will be remembered by her family and co-workers forever. Chris's love for gardening was evidenced by her extensive container garden collection where she grew hundreds of vegetables, herbs and flowers. She and Al were blessed to have enjoyed many vacations throughout the US, Europe and Canada. She especially loved their many summer vacations to New York and Bar Harbor with friends and family.
Chris loved her family and was deeply loved by them as well. Chris was very grateful for her wonderful caretakers during her illness, especially Al who was constantly by her side. The family wants to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone at New Hampshire Oncology in Hooksett, the Murphy Unit at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, and Home Health and Hospice in Merrimack NH.
Surviving family members include her husband of 32 years, Albert Fontneau of Goffstown, NH; her 3 cats, Sammy, Mittens and April; brother, Larrie Kantak and his wife Beth of Phoenix, NY; sister, Melanie Carder and her husband Shannon of Ransomville, NY; her mother in-law, Patricia Fontneau; her brothers in-law and sisters in-law, Stephen Fontneau and his wife Cynthia, Tim Fontneau and his wife Sally, and Diane Fontneau; nieces and nephews, Ellysa, Christy, Stephanie, Anna, Aaron, Sean, Michael, Casey, Tricia, Samantha, Emily and Jessica; and her great nieces and great nephews.
Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 250 Coolidge Ave, Manchester on Friday from 4-6PM. Her Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home at 6:00PM. Complimentary valet parking will be provided.
