Christopher J. Toupin, 99, of 259 Chestnut Street, died July 25, 2002, at Catholic Medical Center. He was born in Brittany, France on June 3, 1903,the son of Francois and Francoise (Herve) Toupin and came to the United States in 1929, after one year in New York City and 50 years in Northhampton, MA., and has been a resident of Manchester since 1980. He belonged to the Legion of One Thousand Men of the Monastery of the Precious Blood, was a parishonner of Ste. Marie Church and was an avid bowler. He was the widower of Lorraine (Richard) Toupin who died in 1992 and Marie Toupin who died in 1977. Mr. Toupin worked for Mrs. Calvin Coolidge during the 1930's after President Coolidge's death and also worked for BP Oil in Plastics Divisions. Family members include his predeceased son, Christian J. Toupin who died June 2, 2002, three grandchildren, Christopher A. Toupin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Steven V. Toupin of Glendale, Arizona and Margaret M. Toupin of Dover, NH, five great grandchildren. SERVICES: Relatives and friends may call at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Saturday morning from 8 to 9:30 o'clock with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 10 o'clock in Ste. Marie Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Northhampton, Ma. Donations may be made to the Monastery of Precious Blood, 700 Bridge Street, Manchester, NH 03104
