Claire A. Cantin, 90, of Manchester died peacefully at home on Thursday, June 2nd, surrounded by her loving family.
Claire was born in Montpelier, VT on September 12, 1920, the daughter of Louis and Amanda (Beaudet) Doucette. She graduated from Manchester West High School, class of â39, and also attended Hesser College. Claire worked for NH Insurance where she retired after 20 years of service.
Claire is described by her children as the best mother there ever was. Her loving nature extended beyond the care of just her own children to include the children of friends and family, and even a foster child; and later in life she found a great deal of joy in taking care of her grandkids, too. Those who knew Claire also knew she was likely the worldâs biggest chocoholic. Her loss will be felt deeply by those whose lives she graced.
Claire was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Raymond J. Cantin.
Claire is survived by her daughter Diane M. and her husband Norman Lamy of Manchester; her daughter Monica Cantin-Boisvert of Mont Vernon; her son John Cantin of Manchester; her foster daughter Rose Sheppard of CA; her Goddaughter Ilona Bolich of Boston, MA; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Claire was predeceased by 2 grandchildren.
