Mrs. Claire I. Couture, 76, of Goffstown, NH died March 11, 2011 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home following a long illness.
She was born on August 11, 1934 in Manchester, NH the daughter of the late Dorila and Roseanna (Gagnon) Chauvette. Mrs. Couture was raised and educated in Manchester. She was a lifelong resident of the area.
She was a dedicated homemaker and mother. She also provided childcare to many over the years with her own business.
Claire enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening, crocheting and cooking. She had a vast collection of porcelain dolls. Claire loved babies.
She was a communicant of the Parish of the Transfiguration.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, George Couture of Manchester; son, James Couture of Manchester, NH; two daughters, Carmelle LaMothe of Manchester and Jeannine Cloutier of Manchester; two brothers, Maurice Chauvette and Rene Chauvette both of Florida; two sisters, Adrienne Gamache of Goffstown, Priscilla Robidoux and many nieces and nephews.
In Her Life: She is also survived by her two sons in-law, Roger Lamothe and Paul Cloutier; two grandsons, Jeremy Lamothe and his wife Holly and Matthew Lamothe and his wife Heather and her four great grandchildren, Jayden, Sophia, Reaghan and Madison. She was predeceased by her six brothers and three sisters.
Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester, NH on Tuesday from 9 to 11 AM. Her Funeral Service will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00AM. Private interment will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
