Claire Y. St. Cyr

Claire Y. (DuPont) St. Cyr, 93, of Manchester, passed away on October 20, 2021 at Catholic Medical Center.

She was born in Manchester on October 29, 1927, the daughter of the late Ulric and Elodia (Gelinas) Dupont. She had worked for Liable Manufacturing earlier in her career. Claire was a devout Catholic and a faithful member of St. Anthony’s Parish. She was also a member of St. Anne Sodality and had been a volunteer at Notre Dame Hospital. She was a member of the Cashin Senior Center and former member of the Ste. Marie choir. As a young girl, she loved to ice fish with her dad. Claire enjoyed watching the NE Patriots the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed line dancing well into her 90s. Her family was most important to her, and she especially cherished her time while interacting and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a limitless amount of energy and continued to manage her home right up to her passing. She was predeceased by her husband Emile P. St. Cyr in 2014 and by a grandson, Timothy P. St. Cyr in 2005.

Family members include a daughter, Constance A. Cabana and her husband Robert P. of Tampa, FL; two sons, Philip E. St. Cyr and his wife Diane M. of Manchester, and Marc P. St Cyr and his wife Marie E. of Concord; four grandchildren, Anthony, Ryan, Joshua, and Emily; four great grandchildren, Sophia, Nicholas, Landon, and Carson; a brother Paul DuPont and his wife Irene of Manchester; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. She leaves behind her best friend Evelyn LaForge of Rhode Island. The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate care provided by the nurses and doctors of the Catholic Medical Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 11:00 in Ste. Marie Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Manchester, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor can be made to the “Timothy P. St. Cyr Memorial Scholarship” and mailed to Trinity High School at 581 Bridge St., Manchester NH 03104.
