Goffstown, NH â Claire B. (Blondeau) Vachon, 89, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown.
Born in Manchester, NH on June 24, 1924, the daughter of the late Edward and Yvonne (Daneault) Blondeau. She was educated in Bedford. Claire had lived in Merrimack for over 20 years before moving to Manchester. Most recently she resided in Goffstown for several years.
Mrs. Vachon was an inspector at Preview Products for many years.
Claire enjoyed knitting, crocheting and flower gardening. She also loved to dance and go to parties. Claire enjoyed a game of bingo and doing word puzzles. She spent many summer days at Hampton Beach and Old Orchard Beach.
Family members include her brother Roland Blondeau, Sr. of Goffstown and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband Charles Bernatas, her second husband of 54 years, Arthur E. Vachon who died in 2009 and her siblings, Marcel Blondeau, Estelle Morel and Fernande Cere.
Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 250 Coolidge Ave, Manchester on Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. Complimentary valet parking will be provided during the calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 AM at The Parish of the Transfiguration Church, 107 Alsace St, Manchester. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St, Watertown, MA 02472. Burial will take place at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
