Clarence W. Whittemore

Clarence "Peanut" Whittemore, 86, of Hinsdale, NH passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital in Brattleboro, VT. He was born in Winchester, NH on April 25, 1927, the son of the late Elizabeth Tracy.

Peanut has been a Hinsdale resident for over fifty years. He was employed for the Town of Hinsdale for many years before his retirement. He enjoyed racing horses, playing bingo, dancing, tinkering with small engines, working in his yard, and camping. Peanut especially loved spending time with his family. He would never miss an opportunity to take his grandchildren and great grandchildren fishing.

He is predeceased by three brothers, Albert Ohlson, Robert Tracy, and Milan Tracey and an infant sister.

He is survived by his wife, Laura (Rowe) Whittemore of Hinsdale; a son, Richard Whittemore of Hinsdale; three daughter, Helena Gurney of Hinsdale, Louise Gleason of Winchester, NH, and Sharon Richardson of Vernon, VT; two brothers, Richard Fecto and his wife Donna of Vernon, and Tony Fecto and his wife Beverly of Hinsdale; two sisters, Ramona Wilcox of Keene, NH and Barbara Porter and her husband Bill of Winchester, NH; twelve grandchildren; many great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 10AM at St. Michael Catholic Church, 47 Walnut St., Brattleboro, VT 05301. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Hinsdale, NH. The Ker-Westerlund Funeral Home, 57 High St., Brattleboro, has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
