Calvin E. ''Baba'' Roach, 77, of 36 Nicola Road, Middleton, died April 18, 2002 at Frisbee Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born in Concord on November 22, 1924, the son of John and Mabel (Robinson) Roach, Sr., and had lived in Chester for 18 and had resided the last 20 years in Middleton. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 0007. He was a carpenter with the Carpenters Union for many years. He was associated with the Chester Grange and the North Chester Ladies Aid Sewing Circle. He was a member and Past President of the Middleton Lion Club. He was very active in community services and volunteer work with the Town of Middleton. He was the widower of Dorothy (Oliver) Roach and was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth Jobin who died in 1979. Family members include a son, Thomas Collins of Manchester; eight grandchildren and several grandchildren; and several brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and cousins. A memorial gathering will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM with a memorial service to follow in the funeral home chapel at 8:00 PM. Urn burial will be in Chester Village Cemetery.
