CLAYTON J. DEZAN
FRANCONIA, NH Clayton J. Dezan, 88, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2007, surrounded by his family, at the Lafayette Health Care Center.
Clayton was born to Francis and Louise (Lunderville) Dezan on April 30, 1919, in West Charleston, Vermont. He attended school in Bath, NH and Waterville, Quebec.
Clayton worked in Hollywood Studios and the oil fields of California where he was befriended by many movie actors of the 40s and 50s. Clayton also worked for Ken Curran Enterprises and Pizagallie Construction for many years as a General Foreman and heavy equipment operator before retiring in 1982. He was a Charter member of the Littleton Eagles Club. Clayton loved traveling in his motor home to California, Arizona, and Florida. He spent many winters panning for gold in Arizona. He also enjoyed entertaining friends by playing the violin, banjo, and guitar.
Surviving family members include one daughter, Dyanna and her husband, Thaddeus Thresher of East St. Johnsbury, VT; three sons, Clayton and his wife, Anne Dezan of Wrightwood, CA, Donald and his wife, Fumiko Dezan of Oceanside, CA, Maurice and his wife, Alice Dezan of Springfield, MA; two sisters, Beatrice Gardell of Ontario, Canada, and Viola Rheaume of Milan, NH; a special niece, Camellia Hill of Milan, NH; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. His wife, Ruth, four brothers, and five sisters predeceased him.
SERVICES Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home, located at 101 Union Street., Littleton, NH, with Rev. Stephen E. Bascom, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.
