Clement J. Lavigne, age 71, passed away after fighting courageously through many years of failing health on March 1st, 2014. Clement was adored by his family and beloved by all he met.
Born on October 25th, 1942, in Woburn, Canada, Clement was the son of the late Edouard and Emelia (Fortin) Lavigne. At the age of 9 Clement moved to Pinardville until marrying Lucille (Dubuc) Lavigne, his devoted wife of 51 years. Clement and Lucille moved to Hooksett permanently and raised three beautiful daughters, Linda, Denise and Diane. All three are forever grateful for Clements teachings of hard work, kindness and the importance of family.
Clement was a supremely skilled heavy equipment operator having learned the trade under the guidance of Bob Dugas Construction. He later went on to own his own bulldozing business and spent his last working years with Manchester Sand and Gravel.
Clement leaves behind his wife Lucille of Hooksett; daughters, Linda Parent and her husband Andre of Hermon, ME; Denise Comeau and her husband Stephen of Bangor, ME; and Diane Pearson and her husband Christopher of Hooksett, NH. His blessed grandchildren include Christopher and Brian Parent; Dominique and Stephen Comeau; and Bryanna, Cooper and Sabrynna Pearson. Brothers Jacques Lavigne and his wife Nancy; Reginald Lavigne and his wife Yvette; Bernard Lavigne and his wife Irene; sister Huguette Argo and her husband Larry and sister Jacqueline Lavoie; several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers Conrad, Rejean and Paul.
Clement will be dearly missed by all who loved him and had the privilege of knowing him. He is remembered by his willingness to help others, his tireless work ethic, a mischievous grin, a playful personality and a man of genuine integrity with a loving heart. He had a passion for family and enjoyed every minute spent with his wife, his daughters and his grandchildren.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue on Friday, March 7th from 5 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph's Cathedral, 145 Lowell St. Manchester. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
