Colby A. Donovan, 13 of Brattleboro, VT passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at his residence in Brattleboro. He was born in Greenfield, MA on May 29, 2000.
Colby is a lifelong Brattleboro resident. He is a student at the Brattleboro Area Middle School, and was part of the Colonels football team. Colby loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ice skating and camping. He had many friends with whom he enjoyed hanging out with.
He is predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Jerry Donovan; maternal grandmother, Jane Forbes; and an aunt, Sorell Bushway.
Colby is survived by his mother, Jessica Gleason and her husband Josh of Brattleboro; his father, Tim Donovan and his girlfriend Darcey Earle of Brattleboro; a brother, Brendon Shippee of Barskdale Airforce Base, LA; a sister, McKayla Donovan of Brattleboro; paternal grandmother, Janet Wrightson of FL; maternal grandfather, Richard Mercier of Vernon; four aunts, Brandy Evitts, Jackie Mailoux, Darcy Donovan and Patti Smith; as well as many uncles, cousins and friends.
Per families request no formal attire, please wear camo.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, 19, 2014 from 1pm to 4pm at Ker-Westerlund Funeral Home, 57 High St., Brattleboro. Following the service, all are invited to attend a gathering at Tim's house, 80 Allerton Ave., Brattleboro. Burial will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Vermont Bearhound Association, PO Box 224, Lyndonville, VT 05851.
