Collette R. (Nantel) Boisvert, 72, of Bedford died April 28, 2004 after a brief illness at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. Born in Providence, RI on July 10, 1931, she was the only child of Joseph and Marie (Sirois) Nantel. She grew up in Nashua and graduated from St. Aloysius, now St. Louis de Gonzague, High School in 1950. She married Alfred R. Smokey Boisvert in 1953 and moved to Portsmouth while Mr. Boisvert completed his degree in electrical engineering at the University of New Hampshire. The couple moved to Long Island in New York in 1957 but returned to New Hampshire within a year when Mr. Boisvert became an engineer at Sylvania in Hillsborough. It was here that they raised a family for 18 years, owned and operated the B&L Bowl, and made lifelong friends before moving to Bedford to become proprietors of the Bowl-o-Drome in 1978. Mrs. Boisvert always said how wonderful her neighbors in Bedford were and she saw how true that was after her beloved husband died in January 2000. Mrs. Boisvert was passionate about gardening, animals, birds and travel. She delighted in continually landscaping her yard and often generously offered to plant any extra plants in her neighbors yards. She supported several animal rescue organizations and faithfully fed the dozens of wild birds living in the trees and bird houses in front of her house. She traveled several times to Canada and Europe with her husband, family and friends, and in recent years she often visited her children, including a memorable tour throughout China in 2002 with her daughter. Family members include her daughter, Denise Boisvert and son-in-law of Oakland, CA; her son, David Boisvert and daughter-in-law of Martinsburg, WV; two grandchildren, a great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and the sister she never had, Connie Plamondon, of Hudson, NH. Services: A memorial gathering will be at the Phaneuf Funeral Home & Crematorium Chapel, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Saturday, June 19, at 9:00 a.m., with the memorial service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at 12:00 noon at St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire, 545 Route 101, Bedford, NH 03110.
