Collette “Crickett” Rowell, 62 of Auburn, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully and in the company of her family on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Born in Manchester, New Hampshire to Sandra “Sandy” Lemieux and Forrest “Sonny” Sell, she lived most of her life in Auburn surrounded by family.
Crickett was a charismatic woman who loved deeply and found immense joy in amusing others. A hardworking woman, she wore many hats: She was a creator, chocolatier, woodworker, bartender, child care provider, business owner, housekeeper, mother, and friend. She spent her final working years dedicated to supporting the residents of Carlyle Place in Bedford, New Hampshire, enriching their lives with her friendly antics and costumes.
Crickett is survived by her brother, Forrest “Jimmy” Sell and wife Alicia, her partner Douglas Marceau, and her children: Kathleen Finnigan and her husband Andrew, Joseph Fraser and his wife April, Jenny Sell and her husband Gary, Kate Royce, and Matthew Royce and his wife Emily. She is also survived by uncountable grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles, as she brought everyone into her life as family and once you became part of hers, you were with her forever.
Crickett was preceded in death by her loving husband, Russell Rowell, her parents Sonny Sell and Sandy Lemieux, and brothers Tiger, Timmy Sell, Tommy Sell, and Joseph Sell.
Services: A memorial gathering will be held for family and friends at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, on Thursday October 8, from 4 to 6 pm.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in Crickett’s memory to the New Hampshire SPCA, 104 Portsmouth Ave Stratham, NH 03885.
Assisting with arrangements is Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Manchester. To view Crickett's online tribute, send condolences to the family, or for more information, please visit www.phaneuf.net
