Corinne Lester, 69, of Kingston, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 30, 2023.
Corinne was born to Steven and Penelope (Karadimos) Lester on February 5, 1954 in Boston, MA. She was raised in Dorchester and Quincy, and was graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 1983. After college, she lived in Boston and worked at Impressions Workshop in Copley Square. While there, she met Giorgio Upiglio who offered her the opportunity to come to Italy to work at Graphico Uno, a studio specializing in Intaglio Printing.
Throughout her professional career as an artist, her artwork was displayed at various galleries in Milan, New York City, and Boston. She also was the recipient of a grant to live in Germany for one year to further develop her art. However, that opportunity never materialized because of a serious car accident that changed the trajectory of her career. That accident made her appreciate the importance of family and how far away she was from them while she lived in Italy. She then returned to the States.
She lived and worked in various cities which included Seattle, Cambridge, and Medford before moving to Kingston, NH. While in Kingston she worked for 13 years at the Carriage Towne News before retiring.
Corinne is survived by three siblings, Electra “Ellie” Alessio of Kingston, Stephen Lester and his wife Lois Gibbs of Falls Church, VA, and Joy Lester and her husband James Boyd of Quincy, MA; nephews, Michael, Ryan, and Christopher; nieces, Melissa, Elizabeth, and Emily; Aunt (“Auntie”) Debbie Tsanotelis of Milton, MA; many cousins and extended family; and the family cat, Tugboat. She is predeceased by her parents Steven and Penelope Lester, niece Amanda Boyd, brother-in-law Buddy Alessio, and her best friend, Felice, the cat that came with her from Milan.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3rd from 10-11am at The Phaneuf Funeral Home & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. A funeral service will follow at 11am in the funeral home. The interment will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.
