Cynthia Lee
Fennelly
Jul 22, 1949 — Oct 1, 2026
Cynthia Lee Fennelly of Bedford passed on October 1, 2026, at the age of 77 after a lengthy fight against dementia.
Cyn was born on July 22, 1949, in Winchester, MA to William A. and Leona M. (Greenyer) Fennelly. Cyn was called to ministry and activism to care for community. She protested war, protected women seeking health care, and marched on Washington. She earned a Bachelor's of Human Services from Springfield College and a Master's of Theological Studies from Episcopal Divinity School. Cyn served as the Director of Religious Education at the Unitarian Universalist Church in both Manchester and Milford NH; she also served her community through teaching in shelters, jails, and drunk driving correction. She adored "her boys" at Easter Seals and spoke fondly and proudly of them. Perhaps her greatest joys in life were her horses and her grandchildren; she loved being Silly Gram as much as she loved being on horseback. We remember her as a caring mother, friend, teacher, mentor, and believer.
She was predeceased by her parents Bill and Lee; and her sister Kathleen A. Fennelly. Her family includes four children, Kate Lynn Earle and partner Corey of Connecticut, Anne Leigh Chesterley of New Jersey, Beth Insley Worcester and husband Brad of Allenstown, and Lex Bucky Hetrick of Manchester; as well as three grandchildren, Caleb A. Earle, Dominic J. Earle, and Jane I. Worcester.
A celebration of life will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 669 Union St, Manchester, NH, in the Spring on April 24, 2027, at 11:30am.
Assisting the family with arrangements is Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Manchester.
