Dale Edward Hoffacker, 69, of 128 Rockingham Road, Auburn, died October 8, 2000, at Catholic Medical Center. He was born in Hanover, Pennsylvania, on October 7, 1931, the son of Roscoe and Beulah (Barbehenn) Hoffacker and had been a resident of Auburn for the past 17 years. He was in the Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. Dale was a life member and past Treasurer of the Auburn Veteran of Foreign Wars. He was employed with Western Union for 28 years, retiring as a project manager. After his retirement he worked nine years for Pitney Bowes as a warehouse supervisor, was a volunteer driver for the V.A. Hospital and a part-time van driver for Granite State Independent Living for several years. Dale traveled extensively throughout North America in his Motor Home. Family members include his wife of 45 years Janet (Hitchman) Hoffacker, a son Scott Hoffacker, both of Auburn, two daughters, Diane Fulmer of Ephrata, Pennyslvania., and Cindy Mason of Mount Holly, New Jersey, seven grandchildren, three brothers, Lewis Hoffacker of Austin, Texas, Burnell Hoffacker of Fairhope, Alabama and Thomas ''Fred'' Hoffacker of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, a sister Virginia Allen of Winchester, Virginia, several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours and a memorial service will take place later this month in the New Hampshire Veteran Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. The Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, is in charge of arrangements.
