Daniel William Demers, 76, passed away at home in New Hampshire on Friday, May 14th, 2026, after several months of illness. Daniel carried himself with courage and dignity throughout the final months of his life.

Daniel (Dan) was born on April 1st, 1950, in North Tonawanda, NY, to the late Leandre and Marie (nee Phelan) Demers. In September of 1968, after graduating from high school, Dan enlisted in the United States Air Force, working as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Repairman with the 379th Field Maintenance Squadron under Strategic Air Command where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his honorable service in the Air Force, Dan enlisted in the United States Army Reserve.

Dan built a successful career in building automation and environmental controls, beginning as a sales engineer, advancing to a highly respected national salesman, and ending his career as a regional manager. Dan was a road warrior who worked tirelessly to build a good life for his family, despite a relentless travel schedule that, at its peak, sometimes saw him flying to three different cities in a single day. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his colleagues and mentoring his employees. Dan frequently said that “if you love your job, you’ll feel like you never work a day in your life”.

Dan was an avid reader of history and current events and had a great love for our nation and its founding ideals. He enjoyed discussing news of the day while spending time with friends and family. Dan was a lifelong fan of the Buffalo Bills and cheered for the team through their ups and downs.

Dan was always quick with a joke and a smile, and he will be remembered as a kind, funny, and generous man who easily made friends everywhere he went.

Dan is survived by his devoted son Andrew and daughter-in-law Kate, who lovingly cared for him in the final chapter of his life; his brother Joe and sister-in-law Ann Demers; his sister Mary Anne and brother-in-law Gary Franklin; his brother Paul and sister-in-law Sharon Demers; his nephew, nieces, and many loving friends and extended family.

A requiem funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 43 Franklin Street, in Nashua, New Hampshire at 10:00 a.m. Rite of Committal and interment will follow at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Daniel’s honor to Liberty House (libertyhousenh.org), a sober residential living program for veterans.
