Daniel F. Swierz, 87, of Manchester, passed away peacefully at home on August 6, 2023 with his family by his side.

Daniel was born in Manchester on October 19, 1935 to Joseph and Stella (Patla) Swierz. He was educated in the Manchester Schools until he was drafted into the US Army in 1955. Upon his arrival home he met the love of his life, Anne-Marie Bouthiette at The Carousel Ballroom in Bedford, NH in 1958 and immediately knew she was the one for him. They married in 1960 and settled down to eventually raise a family of five children. Daniel retired as a Printed Circuit Designer after working for Sanders Associates (BAE) for over 30 years. After retirement he enjoyed working part-time at Hertz Rent-A-Car with other retirees.

A dedicated, hardworking family man and avid enthusiast of fishing, electronics and auto mechanics, Daniel's passion for creating and tinkering knew no bounds. From constructing backyard tree houses and ice-skating rinks, to actually building the family television set, and he could always fix any problem with the family car. His ingenuity extended to transforming the family’s VW bus into a camper to sleep all seven, ensuring many unforgettable road trips. Whether embarking on long-distance adventures or simple Sunday drives visiting various homemade ice cream stands or natural roadside springs to fill gallon jugs of spring water, Daniel cherished every moment spent with his family. He enjoyed teaching his children many other talents such as growing fresh fruits and vegetables and saving money with the valuable art of couponing to find the best deals in town. His unwavering love, creativity, and dedication to family have left fond memories with all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be dearly missed and forever cherished in our hearts.

Along with his wife of 63 years, Anne-Marie, Daniel is survived by his children, Susan E. (Swierz) Hebert and her husband Richard of Manchester, Nancy (Swierz) Cooperider of Manchester, Michael Swierz and his wife Julia of Candia, and James Swierz and his wife Kara of Arizona; his grandchildren, Sara, Nicholas, Alyssa, Justin, Ryland, Emily, Madilyn, and Zoey; a great granddaughter Ashley, and a great grandson on the way; his sisters, Helen Samson, Barbara Swierz, and Jane Swierz; and his beloved cat Teddy. He is predeceased by his son Daniel F. Swierz, Jr.
