It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David K. Blair, who passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, at the age of 85.
Born on July 8, 1940, in Somerville, Massachusetts, David was the much loved son of David and Emma Blair. He grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Danvers High School, Class of 1958. Shortly after graduation, David proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1962. Following his military service, he continued his education and graduated from New England College in 1966.
David was a loving husband, father and grandfather who cherished time with family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Johanne Fontaine Blair. He is also survived by his sisters, Peggy Kingsley of Lebanon, Ohio and Barbara Lewis of Lumberton, New Jersey. He was predeceased by his brother, Alexander Blair.
David leaves behind four children listed in order: Michael Blair and his wife Heidi Goodrich-Blair of Knoxville, Tennessee; Jeannie Blair and her husband Chris Dollase, of Newburyport, Massachusetts; Stephen Blair and his wife Mary Tenn of Manchester, New Hampshire; Heather Moss and her husband Brian of Nottingham, New Hampshire; and Stepson Steve Fontaine of Manchester, New Hampshire
He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Benjamin Blair and his wife Rebecca Lieberman of Kailua, Hawaii; Alexander Blair and his fiancée Margaret Parker of Winooski, Vermont; Matthew Blair and Michael Blair of Manchester, New Hampshire and McKenzie Moss, Madelyn Moss, and Mathew Moss of Nottingham, New Hampshire.
David had a strong work ethic throughout his life and was the owner of Blair Cabinets Associates in Hooksett, New Hampshire. He loved playing golf and skiing. David especially enjoyed traveling internationally with friends and cherished beach vacations in the Caribbean.
He will be remembered for his zest for life and for his kindness to all he encountered.
A Celebration of David's life will be held at a later date.
