David Edward Larocque passed away peacefully at the Merrimack, NH hospice house on July 1st, 2022 due to an unsuccessful battle of liver cancer. He was surrounded by family at the time of his passing.
David was born in Barre, Vermont on February 14th, 1950. He was the eldest child to Roger and Beverly Larocque and spent his childhood growing up on his family's Dairy farm in Randolph, Vermont alongside his 6 siblings. David later went on to serve his country as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and was a soldier in the Vietnam War.
After receiving an honorable discharge for time served, he returned to the states where he began a 15-year long career as Chief of Police, serving multiple states including New Hampshire, Vermont, and Oklahoma. Eventually he went on to become a General Manager of numerous car dealerships throughout the New England area when he had met his second wife Vonice Larocque, who passed away in 2015; bearing him a daughter from the marriage and 3 stepchildren Crystal Kertyzak, Candace Charron, and Craig Charron.
David was a devoted, loving, supporting father, stepfather, and grandfather. His granddaughter was his pride and joy as he spent his last 7 years of life raising her alongside his daughter in Merrimack, NH where they shared a home.
He is survived by his loving daughter and caretaker Caressa Larocque and his granddaughter Scarlette Grace Larocque-Martinez. Siblings include Lynda Cutts, Francis Preston, Maureen Campbell, Carol Brown, Susan Cline, Betty Roberts, and his cousin Gary Larocque whose brother’s life was lost serving in the Vietnam war with David.
A graveside service will be held at The New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH on Thursday, July 14th at 2:30pm.
