David James Wyatt

David J. Wyatt, 75, of Concord, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 24, 2026.

 Born in Dover, New Hampshire, on April 2, 1951, Dave graduated from Merrimack Valley Regional High School in 1969 and enlisted in the United States Navy. In 1970, he met the love of his life, Martha. They were married in 1973, shared 53 wonderful years together, and built a loving family with their three children. Dave served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1973. He was stationed at Mayport Naval Station in Florida and aboard the U.S.S. Albany (CG-10), completing several Mediterranean cruises. Following his military service, he returned to New Hampshire, where he worked for Maltais Plumbing & Heating before beginning a career with the New Hampshire State Hospital. He spent the next 27½ years in the Maintenance Department until retiring in 2012. Dave was a dedicated member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, White Mountain Lodge #5, for 57 years. He served as Grand Master from 2000 to 2001, Grand Patriarch from 2005 to 2006 & 2009 to 2010. David received the meritorious service jewel. He sat on the Board of Trustees at Presidential Oaks. His commitment to the organization reflected his lifelong dedication to service, fellowship, and helping others. 

Dave was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be remembered most for his charismatic wit, caring and generous spirit, unforgettable storytelling, unwavering loyalty, and selfless nature. When he wasn't spending time with his family, he could often be found hunting the woods of New Hampshire or fishing its lakes and streams as an avid outdoorsman. He cherished family camping trips to Pittsburg, New Hampshire, was a lifelong New England sports fan, and especially enjoyed attending Concord High School hockey games and cheering on his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-nephews at their many events. 

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, James Wyatt and Jane (Brownell) Haskell, her husband, Melvin Haskell, and his beloved cousin, Robert Wyatt. He is survived by his loving wife, Martha (Maltais) Wyatt; his siblings, Bruce Wyatt (Lynn) of Loudon, Donna Preve (Paul) of Hopkinton, and Scott Wyatt (Kathy) of Loudon; his children, Wendy Kingsbury (Nathen) of Gilmanton, Carrie Wyatt and her life partner, Timothy LaPlante, of Concord, and David "DJ" Wyatt (Misha) of Concord; his grandchildren, Brianna Zeledon (Jorge), Reanna McGonigle (Cormick), Autumn Wyatt and her partner, Carmelito "CJ" Escalera, Hunter Kingsbury, Ryan Kingsbury, Dawson LaPlante, Toby Wyatt, Nathen & Colby Kingsbury and his beloved great-grandchildren, Ava and Brier Zeledon. He was also joyfully anticipating the arrival of his third great-grandchild, a baby girl due in the coming weeks. He is also survived by Nathan Hickey, who became family to Dave. As a father figure and mentor, Dave took great pride in Nathan's service in the United States Navy, a bond they shared with deep respect and admiration. Dave was beloved by all who knew him. His family finds comfort in the countless memories they shared and in the legacy of love, kindness, and service he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

 Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services, which will be held on Friday July 31st, 2026 at 9am at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, New Hampshire.
