Manchester, NH

De Ann Sparkman, 68, passed away surrounded by love on May 12, 2025, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was born on May 11, 1957, to parents, Grover W. Sparkman and Adeline Belle Gould (Shuman). She was the wife of Annette Dube, with whom she shared 15 joyful years of marriage with since January 2, 2010.

Born with an empathetic heart and a willingness to help everyone she met, De grew up in Utah and attended high school in Ogden. De spent 32 years as a professional cook, traveling across the United States during her younger days, and later transitioned into medical coding at various hospitals. De had a deep sense of care for others that shaped every chapter of her life. Her commitment to people remained constant, especially evident in her work with individuals in addiction recovery. De cared deeply for each person she supported, treating them with dignity and understanding. She brought the same dedication and love to her personal life, especially in her marriage. De was a devoted and supportive caregiver and partner to her beloved wife, Annette.

De met obstacles in life head on. Despite her cancer diagnosis and going through cancer treatments, De continued to take college classes, pursuing her BS in addiction counseling determined to get her degree. De made friends no matter where she was. She made great friends through work and kept close relations with those people.

An adventurer at heart, De was a survivalist who found joy in bush crafting, camping, and skiing Utah’s slopes. She and Annette cherished their time at their camp near Newfound Lake in New Hampshire, a favorite retreat filled with peaceful moments and shared laughter. De also loved spending time with her cats Daisy, Ozzie, and Chloe.

De is predeceased by her parents, her brother, Dale T. Sparkman of Ogden, UT, her half-brother, Grover W. Sparkman Jr. of Portland, OR, and her niece, Karie Leigh Branch who passed away during the COVID-19 pandemic.

De is survived by her wife, Annette Dube, her sister, Denice L. Newman and her husband Dennis Newman of Ogden, UT, and her nieces and nephews.

The family extends their sincere thanks to the entire team at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack for the attentive care they were shown during De’s final days.
