Delwood Smith
Whitefield, NH ---- Delwood (Smitty) Smith, 72, of Jefferson Road passed away Sunday, September 21, 2003 suddenly in Vermont while enroute to his wintering destination.
Delwood was born a son to Eugene and Mildred (Riley) Smith, March 9, 1931 in Proctor, Vermont.
He served in the United States Marines and Army with the 7th Calvary of the 16th Re Con Division during the Korean Conflict. He spent some time employed on the Alaskan Pipeline, prior to moving to Littleton where he was employed as a master plumber for over 20 years. He was the owner operator of two gas station convenience store operations one in Jefferson and one in Littleton. He was a lifetime member of the Littleton Veterans of Foreign Wars, Howard Shawney Post # 816.
Smitty enjoyed, spending time with his family and friends, his dog Yuma, swimming, skiing, traveling around the world, along with a great motivation and desire to create and design new building projects.
Surviving family consists of his wife Shirley (Butler) Smith of Whitefield, NH; two daughters Barbara Davis of Grants Pass, Oregon and Della Lynde of Lebanon, NH; four grandchildren Tracy Davis and Jason Davis of Whitefield, NH, Ryan and Brandon Lynde of Lebanon, NH.
SERVICES: At the request of the family there will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held in the St. Rose Cemetery in Littleton on Friday, September 26th at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Father Joseph Klatka as celebrant.
