Demetrios Jimmy Koustas

Demetrios "Jimmy" (Benelas) Koustas, 84 of Manchester, NH passed away after a prolonged illness on Sept 30 at Elliot Hospital with his family by his side. Born on June 7, 1935 in Pentalofos, Greece, the son of Konstantinos and Maria (Koustas) Benelas was raised by his step mother Penelope Benelas. He lived life to the fullest. He left Greece while he was a teen to start a new life. He learned a new language, started his own business & family. He made it a point that we all knew where he came from and what he accomplished. His biggest joy was his family, his 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Pappou Jim enjoyed fishing, grilling, family gatherings, particularly his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. Jimmy was a member of the Pentalofos Society, past Board of Director at St. George Cathedral, a 32-degree Master Mason, and a member of the Bektash Shriners as well as past president of the Manchester Shrine Club.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Irene (Agoritsas) Koustas; his children Charles and his wife Gail of Tyngsboro, Ma, Maria of Manchester, and Michael and his wife Effie of Bedford NH; His grandchildren Dr. Dmitri Koustas and his fiancé Yukiko Asai of Chicago, IL, Ariana and her husband Eugenios Arfanakis of Tyngsboro, Ma, Charles (CJ), Michael (Mikey) and Alexianna Koustas of Bedford; 2 great grandchildren, Constantine and Evie Arfanakis of Tyngsboro; Two sisters Vasiliki Xanthopoulos, Marigoula Tzellas both residing in Greece.

SERVICES: Visitation will be held on Friday October 4th from 10-11 am at St. George Orthodox Cathedral located at 650 Hanover St. Manchester. A Funeral Service will follow at 11 am. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
