Diana M. Blake
Londonderry, NH--Diana M. (Fowler) Blake passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2014 after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Diana was born April 29, 1936 to the late Albert and Gladys (Wilkens) Fowler in Somerville, Massachusetts where she spent most of her childhood with her brother Daniel Fowler until moving to New Hampshire in her later teenage years.
Diana graduated from Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH. She married her childhood sweetheart Thomas E. Blake, and moved to Reading, Massachusetts where they raised 4 children. They eventually moved to Londonderry, NH in 1978 where they spent their time enjoying their grandchildren. Diana loved to play the piano and sing. She sang in the choir at St. Athanasius in Reading, MA and St. Marks in Londonderry, NH. She and her husband Tom loved to dance and enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and big band music. As a young mother, she started a woman's club in Reading, Massachusetts, and brought together a bunch of great women who remained life-long friends. She was a kind and caring woman with a big heart and would be ready to lend a helping hand at a moment's notice. Her spontaneity made her so fun to be around. Diana passed along her appreciation of music and her love of life to her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Diana is survived by her 4 children and their spouses, Diana Blake (husband George) Foley of Chula Vista, California, Linda Blake (husband Barry) Chisholm of Londonderry, NH, Thomas (wife Karen) Blake of Merrimack, NH, and Steven (wife Kimberlee) Blake of Litchfield, New Hampshire, as well as 9 grandchildren, Joshua Lemack, Bryan Foley, Tyler Foley, Alyssa Foley, Jenna Foley, Cameron Chisholm, Morgan Chisholm, Daniel Taschereau, Amanda Taschereau, and many nieces, nephews, and very good friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is predeceased by her brother Daniel Fowler.
