Dolores A. Arel, 96, of Northwood NH, passed away on December 13, 2020 at the Epsom Healthcare Center following a brief illness. She was born on January 3, 1924 to the late Edmund & Albertina (Desrosiers) Hebert.
Dolores was born in Pembroke, NH and would spend her entire life as a resident of New Hampshire. She worked for many years as a mill worker and would go on to retire from Osram Sylvania, but her true calling in life was her role as a mother and wife to her large family. She was a loving and devoted wife to her first husband Robert Rousseau Sr. for 25 years and later to Robert Arel for over 25 years.
Dolores will be remembered as a caring, loving, strong-willed wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. There was nothing that Dolores loved more in this world than being surrounded by her family, as she was blessed to meet many grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as a great-great granddaughter. She also loved a good book, and was great at sewing as she leaves behind many quilts, aprons, potholders and keepsakes for her children and grandchildren. Most of all, Dolores loved being with her family during Christmas, and she will be dearly missed this year by all who she leaves behind.
She has now joined her 1st husband Robert Rousseau Sr.; 2nd husband Robert Arel; son Robert Rousseau Jr. & son Arthur Rousseau in heaven. She is survived by her sons Felix, Richard & David Rousseau; daughters Doris Brideau, Marie Sullivan & Shirley Lambert; step-daughters Susan Ratliff, Linda Davis, Judy Sevgny & Karen Lazott; brothers Victor & Rene Hebert; sister Janet Rousseau; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
Dolores will be laid to rest at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in a private ceremony for her family. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
In Dolores' memory, donations can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
