Dolores A, Romano

Dolores A. (Buzzeo) Romano, 93, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2021 with her loving husband of 70 years, James, by her side.

She was born in Stamford, CT on August 29, 1928, the daughter of Raymond and Raffaella (Terrenzio) Buzzeo. She is predeceased by two brothers, Harold Buzzeo and Raymond Buzzeo, and a sister Gloria Gerstner.

In addition to her husband, James, family members include four daughters, Susan Newton and her husband Charlie of Manchester, Cindy Benson and her late husband Gavin of Londonderry, Nancy Fothergill and her husband Jimmy of Londonderry, and Jamie Romano and her spouse Delia of Manchester; five grandchildren, Amy and her husband Shawn, Jessalyn, Rachel, Chaz and his wife Sawyer, Julia, and one great granddaughter, Charley Grace, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

She also enjoyed the company of Connor, Sean, and Jason; significant others of Rachel, Jessalyn and Julia.

Dolores dedicated her life to raising her daughters and providing a loving home where all who entered felt welcome and at home. She also opened her heart and home to four foster babies while raising four daughters of her own. She was a great listener and always gave good advice.

She enjoyed spending time with family, especially holidays and family summer vacations “at the lake”. She loved cooking for her family, sharing recipes, gardening, the beach and traveling with her husband. She also loved dogs, especially her grand-dogs.

We will all miss her silly sense of humor and strong willed personality. She was an inspiration to us all. She is lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed.

A visitation followed by a funeral service will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St, Manchester in early December. Please check the funeral home website for updated service information. To view an online tribute, send condolences to the family, or for more information, visit www.phaneuf.net.

Dear Jim and Family, I very sorry to hear of your loss. Our neighborhood in Merrimack, where we all met, seems like ancient history. Life goes so quickly! You were fortunate to have Dolores for so many years. I'm sure she is at rest.

I've known Dolores for 35 years as my brother's mother-in-law, and as a lovely woman in her own right. I always enjoyed her company and her great laugh. She will be missed by her family, friends and me. I'm sure she is smiling on all her family who are thinking of her with love.
