Donald A. Butterfield, Jr., age 83, of Loudon, NH died on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. He was the husband of Pauline (Hall) Butterfield. He was born October 17, 1926 in Derry, NH where he met his sweetheart, Pauline. For the past 32 years they have resided in Loudon, NH. Don served in the military during WWII and the Korean War. For many years, he was involved in the building materials business, being one of the founders of A&B Lumber and for the past 16 years a valuable member of the Loudon Building Supply family. Besides his forever loving wife of 62 years, Pauline, he is survived by his daughter Pamela Weinhold and her husband John; his daughter Karen Shirley; his daughter Janet Martinez and her husband Carlos; his daughter Nancy Bolduc and her husband Allan; his son William Butterfield and his wife Kathy; his sister Irene Hicks of Londonderry, NH. He will also be greatly missed by his 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Don is predeceased by his parents Nina (Kingsbury) and Donald A. Butterfield, Sr. and his sister Norma. Although we are greatly saddened by our loss, we are thankful and feel very blessed we had our dad in our lives for so many years. We love and miss you. There will be no calling hours. A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 11:30am in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association, 2 Wall Street, Manchester, NH 03101.
